Fish Stocking Program on Lac Vieux Desert
This fall the LVD Lake Association released thousands of 4 – 6-inch Walleye. In addition, the WI DNR released 10 – 12-inch Musky. This should keep the fishing in good shape for some time to come

Do I need a fishing license to fish on Lac Vieux Desert?
Yes, Lac Vieux Desert is a boundary water lake between Wisconsin and Michigan, meaning you need either a Wisconsin or Michigan fishing license to fish legally. You do not need both. Licenses can be purchased online or at nearby bait shops or gas stations.
Do you offer guided fishing trips?
While Sunrise Lodge does not currently offer guided fishing tours, we can recommend local fishing guides who specialize in Musky, Walleye, and Ice Fishing trips on Lac Vieux Desert. Just ask our staff for recommendations during your stay!
